Flaming Wheelchair Cover

Description

What you're looking at is a fiberglass cover for an electric-powered wheelchair that I sanded and repainted custom in 2001. First time I ever got to use a real airbrush, albeit a cheap one for models.
The larger story behind this thing, however, is a work in itself. First of all, the dude who paid me a hundred bucks to paint up his wheelchair cover was in such condition because he lost a leg in a motorcycle accident after trying to outrun the cops. His flame job looked great for all of a week or two... He also had a drunkardly blonde girlfriend who fancied herself an artist, and she got ahold of the cover and painted on it herself. Even the guy said it looked terrible.
But it didn't look like anything after a black woman who said he owed her child support stole his unattended wheelchair one night...the local police found peices of it chucked off the Bonner Street Bridge (which at the time was a rickety wooden street bridge that went over railroad tracks).
Probably the most sordid sadsack tale of what's happened to artwork of mine, ever.
