Zechs was a true labor of love. Oddly enough, I had the concept for this image in mind way back in late 2000, but couldn't get it hammered out to my satisfaction. When I did my first actual prints for sale in 2001, I used this same concept to draw Duo, (which hasn't sold out yet, thus is still an "active" image--that's why he's not here on DA) and Trowa. Two years later I was finally able to do the other pilots and could at last get on paper the idea I'd had for almost three years. It was worth it.
My signed copy of this is framed in my bedroom. One of my favorite pieces!
