Really! Wow. I'm still around! Good thing, right?
So much has happened since last time I posted here. (Namely, found a home, settled in, got some pet ducks, wrote a couple more books.) I've got a LOT of fresh artwork that I'll share eventually...hopefully, that will include some more animation. Nicer animation...as in, I'm finally in a college animation program, learning some cool stuff, kind of animation! W00t! So, in that vein, I have two observations to share:
Observation #1: If you have skills doing traditional drawing - pencil and paper, figure drawing, painting, etc. - YOU ARE SPECIAL. We are a vanishing breed! And I need to talk to you. Because we are what will save 2D animation. I can't tell you how odd it feels going to ANIMATION classes with kids fresh out of high school that can't even pick up a pencil and draw!!!
Observation #2: There are some beautiful 3D models of G1 Transformers out there, which started on MMD and have made inroads here in the U.S., and I cannot seem to download them. HELP! Some folks out here have used them, I think your work is great and it gives me hope that G1 can still yield some great art and animation. But I want to do some of my own work with them in Maya, which is the software we're using. I can convert .OBJ files and probably some other types as well using Accutrans. But I need to be able to download something first! Can anyone give me some current, reliable links? Or email me? I would REALLY appreciate it...
(And double bonus points if you can LMK in the next couple of days, we start a new project on Wednesday using FaceShift software, and using either Megatron or Starscream would be uber-fantastic.)

Blue Moons, Phoenix Sightings, and Journal Entries
...What do all of these things have in common? They're all extremely rare. Particularly journal entries from me. Hopefully this will change, as I am getting the hang of the DA app for Android...neither of which existed when I first got on DA, but it's nice to see most of my stuff is still here. (Except private drafts/scraps, haven't found those as yet.) Longevity in social media, sounds like an oxymoron, doesn't it? ;)
Unfortunately, it seems that every time I pick up my phone to compose even so much as a reply to a message, that invites the entire f&¢king WORLD to either strike up a conversation or need something from me... this time be
And the Hits Just Keep On Coming...
You know what I said about wanting to come onto DA more often?
Yeah...well...that was before, let's see:
- Daryn's dad dying on April 3rd
- we get told we have to move out of our apartment
- those storms that flattened Tuscaloosa warmed up on us and knocked out power for 3 days
- crazy house hunting, offering on one and finding it has termites and bad A/C that the owners won't fix
- more house hunting
- trying to work in the middle of all this
and just ARGH.
I have some art to upload, was in the middle of storyboarding for my next animation project, and so on, but that kinda got shot to hell for the time being. Hopefully after Jun
A Long Overdue Update.
I've been away from this place for a looooong while now, and I definitely miss my DA peeps. It's nice to duck in for a moment; besides, you lovely aforementioned DA peeps can better appreciate my thoughts for the evening.
Just a quick recap of "Where've you been?!?", over the last six months I've been plugging my book hither and yon, set up a Zazzle store that has no traffic (and they thought my design of my femme Seeker was copyrighted material, so I couldn't order a tie of her for Daryn, dammit!), am trying my hand at one or two other nefariously capitalistic schemes (though I'm making it sound more exciting than it really is,) and have be
Special Gundam Wing item for My DA Peeps!
Those of you who are Gundam Wing fans, I have a treat for you. If you'll notice, I have artwork here of all the Gundam pilots except Duo. That is because I still had signed prints of him for sale. Well, my LAST ONE is up on eBay right now. My last print out of about 300...! I've been selling them since 2001, so it took awhile and there have been copies bought quite literally all over the world. But now my final signed Duo print is up for grabs. You guys deserve a shot at it!

I still draw. Right now I'm bit busy. Hopefully after April that will loosen up.
Okay how do kids do art school if they can't pick up pencil. Sadly it seems the world is more computerized than ever.
