Really! Wow. I'm still around! Good thing, right? ;)

So much has happened since last time I posted here. (Namely, found a home, settled in, got some pet ducks, wrote a couple more books.) I've got a LOT of fresh artwork that I'll share eventually...hopefully, that will include some more animation. Nicer animation...as in, I'm finally in a college animation program, learning some cool stuff, kind of animation! W00t! So, in that vein, I have two observations to share:

Observation #1: If you have skills doing traditional drawing - pencil and paper, figure drawing, painting, etc. - YOU ARE SPECIAL. We are a vanishing breed! And I need to talk to you. Because we are what will save 2D animation. I can't tell you how odd it feels going to ANIMATION classes with kids fresh out of high school that can't even pick up a pencil and draw!!!

Observation #2: There are some beautiful 3D models of G1 Transformers out there, which started on MMD and have made inroads here in the U.S., and I cannot seem to download them. HELP! Some folks out here have used them, I think your work is great and it gives me hope that G1 can still yield some great art and animation. But I want to do some of my own work with them in Maya, which is the software we're using. I can convert .OBJ files and probably some other types as well using Accutrans. But I need to be able to download something first! Can anyone give me some current, reliable links? Or email me? I would REALLY appreciate it...

(And double bonus points if you can LMK in the next couple of days, we start a new project on Wednesday using FaceShift software, and using either Megatron or Starscream would be uber-fantastic.)

I still draw.  Right now I'm bit busy. Hopefully after April that will loosen up.

Okay how do kids do art school if they can't pick up pencil.  Sadly it seems the world is more computerized than ever.
